Arist's link shortener lets you convert long URLs into compact arist.link links directly from the content editor. This is especially useful when writing for character-limited delivery channels like SMS or WhatsApp, where every character counts.

How to Access the Link Shortener

  1. Open any course, nudge, or survey in the content editor

  2. Click the Actions dropdown in the editor toolbar

  3. Select Shorten link from the menu

Creating a Shortened Link

Once you click "Shorten link," a modal will appear.

  1. Paste your full URL into the input field

  2. Click Generate shortlink

  3. Wait a moment while Arist generates your shortened arist.link URL

  4. Copy the link using the copy button before closing the modal

Once copied, you can paste the shortened link directly into any lesson or message block in your content.

Why Use a Shortened Link?

  • Save on character count for SMS and WhatsApp content, where long URLs can take up a significant portion of your message

  • Keep messages clean and easier to read for learners

  • All shortened links use the arist.link domain, so they are recognizable and trustworthy

Tips

  • You can shorten any valid URL, including links to external resources, videos, or documents

  • Shortened links work across all delivery channels (Slack, SMS, WhatsApp, Teams)

  • For general guidance on formatting content for different channels, see Formatting in Arist Courses
