Overview
By default, Arist sends response reminders based on engagement data across all courses and customers. The first reminder at 2 hours is particularly effective at re-engaging learners. You can now customize up to 5 response reminders with your own timing intervals by going to Settings > Response Reminders
Setting Up Custom Response Reminders
View the default reminder schedule in the table
Each reminder shows:
Reminder number (1-5)
Hours since last message
Message text (English version only)
Click Edit to modify the hours for any reminder
Use the toggle to enable or disable individual reminders
Delivery Schedule
Response reminders are sent according to these rules:
Business Hours: Reminders are delayed outside of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT for instant schedules
Weekends & Holidays: Reminders are delayed on weekends and U.S. holidays unless those are selected delivery days on your schedule
Reset Behavior: The reminder sequence resets to the first reminder once a learner responds
Reminder #5 Special Behavior
If all 5 reminders are enabled, Reminder #5 will automatically pause learners in schedules once it's sent. Make sure your message text reflects this behavior.
Suggested (default) text with all five reminders enabled:
⏸️ We've paused your activity to respect your time. Ready to resume? Reply 'RESUME' and let's pick up where we left off. Your next step awaits! If you'd like to leave feedback, you can here: %{magic_link}
Schedule Display
When response reminders are enabled for a schedule, you'll see the timing displayed as:
X hours after last course question
X hours after previous reminder
And so on...
Best Practices
Start with defaults: The default schedule is based on engagement data and proven effectiveness (especially the first reminder at 2 hours!!!)
Test changes: Monitor learner engagement after making timing adjustments
Clear messaging: Ensure your custom text is clear and actionable
Consider time zones: Remember that business hours are in PT for instant schedules
Customizing Messages
To customize the text for each response reminder, you can go to the System Messages tab on the Settings page. That is also where you can add translated versions of the messages.
You can only customize the text for reminders that have been enabled.
